MEN OF ELOHIM
The phrase "man of Elohim" or "men of Elohim" is frequently used in Scriptures with reference to people whose lives were dedicated to serve Yahweh, to follow in his ways, to listen to his voice and to make known his Word to others. In many cases this phrase was used to refer to a prophet – someone called specifically to speak "for" or "on behalf of" Yahweh. Prophets were sometimes also to speak on behalf of people, "before" (or in the presence of) Yahweh. This may be seen in the first instance where reference is made to a prophet in Scriptures, Bereshit (Genesis) 20:7. The word "prophet" literally means to speak for, on behalf of or before (someone). Sometimes people not specifically known as prophets are also called "men of Elohim" and in the Post-Messianic Scriptures believers are challenged to truly live as people of Elohim. In Scriptures Mosheh, Dawid, EliYah, Elisha, Yahuchanan and Timothy (among others) are called "men of Elohim". As a whole, the call of Scriptures is that those who desire to please Yahweh should truly be people of Yahweh – people who reflect his character, people who walk in his ways, and people who act according to his will.
