THE VOICE OF YAHWEH CALLING

We are reminded during this time between Yom Teruah (Day of Shouting / Day of blowing of Trumpets / Day of a great Voice) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement / Day of Reconciliation) that it is extremely important to listen to the urgent call / powerful voice of Yahweh the Almighty (Hebrew expression: "qol Yahweh" = "voice or sound or calling of Yahweh"). The sound of Trumpets 10 days prior to the most solemn day of Yom Kippur was always meant to be a wake-up call – a call to put an end to running after one’s own interests and one’s own ideas – an urgent call to make a dead stop, leave everything that’s been keeping us busy for the past weeks or months or even years, and allow ourselves once and for all to listen to the sound of Yahweh’s voice and Yahweh’s calling. Let us not miss out today when we hear the voice of Yahweh. Let us not miss out on the opportunity to receive a direct word from Yahweh – not a word from Yahweh manipulated and deformed by the so-called prophets of this world, but a word from Yahweh unchanged by time and untouched by human doctrine – a word coming directly from the very mouth of the Almighty!
